How great is it when you have a project to do that requires a lot of menial work and you have helpers! Small children are great for this! It gives them a sense of purpose and keeps them busy all at the same time! It is a great blessing when you don’t have to stop what you are doing to carry the sticks to the burn pile or walk to the four corners of the house to put away odds and ends. It seems to come together so much faster, so much easier…you can direct and watch before your eyes as the little things get accomplished. It is just so nice to have those little hands and feet!

Do you think that God feels any different when He looks at all the work that needs to be done here on Earth? How he must rejoice when we just do as He asks… when He doesn’t have to repeat Himself or explain Himself, we just do and the job gets done. He is the brains of the operation…we are merely called to be His hands and feet. Think of how frustrating it is when you give your children a direction and instead of doing it they ask a million questions first. We really hold up progress on “God’s to-do list” when we feel the need to know every detail or every reason why. He tells us to stay within His sight, listen to the sound of His voice, and do what He tells us to do. Just like we would tell our children. He will figure out the rest. He can see the big picture and the reasons behind each “menial task” we are assigned. I am convinced if we could just do these three things: stay close, listen and do…our whole Christian walk would seem much less confusing!
